Varada Kala Sansthan
Ar.Shruti Rajeev Sharma’s vision of preserving, promoting, educating and performing this elegant and majestic dance form materialised through Varada Kala Sansthan, which she started in 1999. Using dance as an instrument to raise issues of social concern like female foeticide, organ donation, cancer awareness, cleanliness, patriotism, environment protection, women empowerment, social justice, Varada Kala Sansthan designed dance dramas which embodied a spectacular combination of narratives, which emerged from deep insights.
Varada Kala Sansthan, Indore, has mentored more than 1000 students, organised many dance workshops by renowned Bharatnatyam gurus and conducted over 150 programs to render unflinching support to social causes, which have been performed at various locations across India.
The dance recitals done on prestigious events and platforms like Simhasth 2016 Ujjain, Bharat Parv Kalidas Academy Ujjain, Bhoj Mahotsav, Dhar, Doordarshan Kendra Bhopal, Bakayan Festival, AIIMS New Delhi, Shrawan Mahotsav Mahankaleshwar Temple Ujjain, Guinness World Record program- Mera Tiranga Abhimaan, Shankar Mahotsav Omkareshwar, Mandu Festival, Gamak, Mahashivaratri utsav, Triveni Sangrahalaya Ujjain, Malwa Utsav, Indore, etc. captivated the audience and have helped in carving a niche in the field of Indian Classical Dance.
The institute also has, to its credit, the honour of having conducted first Arangetram of Bharatnatyam in Malwa by Dr Rashi Sharma and Dr Pooja Bhattacharya Arangetrams have been attained by her disciples till date. To help the trainees delve deep in this field of dance, Varada Kala Sansthan got workshops conducted by many artists of national and international repute. Spiritual workshops were also organized to cleanse the pupils of their human weaknesses, to emerge as a conduit of the divine grace and to harness their potential to reach new heights.
Objective Of Vardakala Sansthan
- To create awareness about and provide education and training of Bharatnatyam and also of other allied ancient classical art forms in Malwa region
- To sustain the age-old Guru-Shishya paramapara through this ancient classical dance style
- To create awareness about the cosmic dance of Nataraja.
- To provide training and support to each and every student and artist to make them professionally equipped and self-reliant.
- To provide platforms for the students of the institute and all young and upcoming artists to showcase their talent.
- To conduct exams and prepare its students for diploma and degree courses.
- To participate in national and international festivals and organize dance programs and reach the masses through the beauty and grace of Bharatnatyam.
- To invite renowned artists of Bharatnatyam and conduct workshops for students, to develop their skills and knowledge of this dance form and share new ideas with them.
- To use dance as an instrument of social and cultural development and highlight the burning issues plaguing the society and raise its voice for social, national and cultural causes.
- To attract the younger generation towards spirituality, to help them lead a happy, empowered, healthy, peaceful and meaningful life
Union Ministry Of Culture Sanctioned Repertory Grant To Guru & Disciple.
Guru Mrs. Shruti Rajeev Sharma and two disciples have earned repertory grant from National School of Drama (an Autonomous Institution of Ministry of Culture, Government of India)
Gold Medal
As a gesture of gratitude towards the art form of Bharatnatyam Dance & towards the society. Varda Kala Sansthan & Director Ar. Shruti Rajeev Sharma have lent their name to the Gold Medal to be awarded to the topper of the Graduate Level of Bharatnatyam of Raja Mansingh Tomar Sangeet & Kala University, Gwalior.
